Setting the animation speed

As you plan an animation, you must consider the rate at which the frames will switch from one to the next. This is called the frame delay. A frame delay that is too long makes the animation appear to stop and start; a frame delay that is too short blurs the details of the animation.

The complexity of the animation and the speed of the computer on which the animation is being played affect the smoothness of the playback. If possible, test your animation on a variety of computers to determine optimum frame delay.
